When I traveled into the countryside around the small Indian town of Bundi, I came upon a village located near an intersection of two dirt roads. I had no idea which way to go and so I took a seat at a roadside cafe in order to hide from the intense heat. And then a man walked out of a door, smiled and shook my hand. He was the ‘tea man’ and he proceeded to prepare the tastiest cup of Indian chai that I have ever tried.
After he served the tea, he then sat down with me and we ‘chatted’ for over an hour, despite not sharing a common language. When it was time for me to leave, this man insisted we take a photo together and now, I will always remember his kindness and the positive energy that seemed to emanate from his constant smile.
Today’s smiling faces travel photo is a generous contribution from Derek Earl Baron, known better in the on-line travel blogging community, as Wandering Earl. Earl’s one of my favourite travel bloggers and I’ve featured him on my flagship site (Nomadic Samuel) several times as one of 8 unique travel bloggers to follow and in an interview about working overseas. His blog is full of great information that inspires others to travel and littered with fascinating travel stories. I highly recommend you follow Wandering Earl’s travel blog and connect with him on twitter.
