Graffiti is a part of the experience of traveling in South America. One can’t help but notice it. Although some may find it annoying or degrading, I view it as art that offers insight into a region/culture. This particular photo is of a face plastered on a wall smiling while sticking out its tongue in a cheeky manner. This daily smiling faces travel photo is from Quito, Ecuador. For the travel photographer enthusiast, this photo was taken with a 50 mm lens with aperture wide open. By having the lens wide open I was able to selectively blur sections of the photo that would otherwise remain sharply in focus. This technique is effective for drawing the viewer into a certain section of the photo.
