Man Smiling | Characters of Egypt Festival | Travel Photo

Today's smiling faces travel photo comes from a tiny island on the Nile named Heisa, in the Aswan area. During Beduin Characters of Egypt Festival this man flashes an authentic smile.

I took this photo on a tiny island on the Nile named Heisa, in the Aswan area. I was attending the Characters of Egypt Festival this winter, an annual event where Beduins and Tribes from all the Egyptian deserts gather for 3 days and camp together, sharing their knowledge and culture.
It was definitely hard as a non-Arabic speaker to understand everything, but for sure it was easy to get in the mood:
the atmosphere was super chilled out and you could hear traditional music and chants all around, while groups of Bedouins played their typical games and competitions. It was amazing going to the Beduins’ tents after the sunset, and join them drinking tea, dancing, singing and… smiling!
If you’re considering travelling to Egypt, you can reserve now holiday getaways from Sharm el Sheikh to Hurghada.
Today’s generous smiling faces travel photo was contributed by Giulia Cimarosti from the popular travel blog Travel Reportage.  Giulia is a 27 year old Italian who is full time traveler who currently bases herself in Egypt but considers the world her playground.  Aside from her travel blog, connect with her on twitter and be sure to like her facebook fan page.

Oh, Giulia! This is such a great shot in so many levels. You not only captured his smile, but also the essence of what he was feeling. So Egyptians do know how to smile sincerely – contrary to what I was told.
