Today’s smiling faces travel photo is of a Malaysian man flashing a genuine smile & laughing hysterically while talking on the phone with a close acquaintance – Penang, Malaysia. As a travel photographer, it’s moments like these (candid shots) that I enjoy capturing the most. This is a smiling faces travel photo from Penang, Malaysia.

This is a wonderful candid shot! I can almost hear his laughter. Photos like these so vividly capture the essence of a place, a time and a mood. Keep up the good work with ‘smiling faces’.

He was a very pleasant guy. I remember him well.
When I first started taking travel photos I never focused on individual people, but those are some of the best shots.

Thanks Scott, neither did I. It’s only been in recent years that I’ve shifted more towards that style.
most travel bloggers usually focus more on landscapes and locations. It is interesting to take into consideration the people at each place just like you did in this post. Besides, they are the ones that give each place its escence…keep having fun!

Thanks Joe
I know a lot of people are shy to take shots of locals (I used to be) but they’re now my favourite kinds of shots.
