Let a cottage holiday make you smile in 2012
2012 is a fantastic year to visit the UK! With so much going on, it’s a great time to rent a holiday cottage and spend some quality time with family and friends.
Smile with thousands of others
The London Olympics is a fantastic reason to smile! Even if you don’t have tickets to the actual games there are so many ways to get involved and feel part of the buzz. Firstly, there is the Olympic Torch relay. Over seventy days the torch will be carried by over 8000 torchbearers and will come within an hour of 95% of the UK population, so wherever you are, you are near enough to get a glimpse of this momentous occasion. Then once the games are underway, across the UK there are live screens being assembled where people can gather and watch the games together. There are 22 big screens across the UK and all of them are completely free to enter and you don’t need a ticket either. What a great way to enjoy the games! Why not visit a part of the UK you haven’t seen before and soak up the atmosphere at one of the live screens? Buck the trend, get out of London and see what the rest of the UK has to offer.
Our four legged friends can smile too!
The UK is known for being a nation of dog lovers what better way to show your loyal friend how much you care than by taking them on holiday with you. Save the heartache and hassle of dropping your dog at the kennels and bring them along too. With loads of pet friendly cottages across UK there really is a destination for everyone.
Smile whatever the weather brings
UK weather can be pretty unpredictable. Still, there are so many reasons to smile whatever the weather. If it’s sunny, get out in the great outdoors but when it really is better weather for ducks than humans, why not get wet anyway by trying white water rafting, windsurfing or canoeing. Then when evening comes, forget about the weather and warm up in your cosy cottage in front of a roaring log fire with a glass of wine in hand.
Smile with an extra day off for the Jubilee weekend
On the first weekend in June, the nation will be marking 60 years on the throne for Queen Elizabeth II with a special bank holiday weekend. This truly British celebration will be marked with loads of events happening across the country including The Big Lunch where neighbours and friends are encouraged to share a meal together and a huge concert at Buckingham Palace. With an extra day off, it’s a great chance to get away for a few days and enjoy a truly British celebration.
