Cool off at Sunway Lagoon Water Park

One major tourist attraction in Bandar Sunway is the Sunway Lagoon water park. Spanning across 89 acres, Sunway Lagoon puts on many concerts and events, and is comprised of many components. One component, Extreme Park, houses the largest water ride in the world known as Vuvuzela. Surf Beach, on the other hand, is listed in the Malaysia Book of Records as one of the largest man-made surf beaches in the world. In 2016, Sunway Lagoon was ranked number 5 on TripAdvisor’s Asia’s Top Water Parks list.

Try rock climbing

For those that enjoy adventure, such as rock climbing and archery, travelers can check out Camp 5 and Stars Archery. Located inside the fourth largest mall in the world, Camp 5 is the biggest indoor rock climbing facility in Asia. Perfect for beginners, experts, and children alike, the course contains roped climbing walls, top-rope and lead climbing space, along with rope-free bouldering walls.

Pick up a bow and arrow

Stars Archery, home to Malaysia’s largest indoor archery range, is also great for travelers of all ages and experience levels; instructors are always on site, and event days for families, corporations, and other groups are held often.

Spend the afternoon shopping

Aside from rock climbing and archery, Bandar Sunway offers many other activities, such as shopping at Sunway Pyramid. Modeled after Egyptian pyramids and architecture, Sunway Pyramid is the first themed shopping mall in Malaysia. The shopping center opened in 1997, and is one of two locations in the country that has an indoor skating rink. Travelers of all ages can enjoy Sunway Pyramid, which is open year-round.
